Domino and his associates will share their understanding of how the government’s transformation agenda will be implemented in Ontario. LD&A will describe how this can be seen as an opportunity for both you, and your organization.
Domino will share strategies on how to best use this opportunity to help government move forward, and meet its objectives.
Since 1984, Leonard Domino has helped not-for-profit and corporate accounts achieve their goals by building successful relationships with civic, provincial and the federal governments. His experience as an elected official and a Senior Policy Advisor to Cabinet Ministers provides him with broad insights into how elected officials, their political staff and the civil service interact.

Former Manitoba Minster of Heath (1997-1999) who implemented regionalization of healthcare services will share his experiences in undertaking one of the most extensive and significant changes in healthcare delivery in the history of medicare.
Praznik will describe the imperatives that drive governments to change governance & delivery models, the key elements that must be addressed to make reform meaningful, the pitfalls, the politics of bringing change to the system, and role that healthcare organizations can play in reform.


Praznik’s experience as a Provincial Health Minister will provide useful insight for healthcare organizations about to undergo a period of significant change with the implementation of the new LHIN’s in Ontario. His experience will provide meaningful insight as to the “view from the Minister’s office”.


Praznik served as a Member of the Manitoba Legislature from 1988-2002 and as a member of Cabinet from 1990-1999. He was previously a Special Assistant to a Federal Minister of Health and is currently the Executive Director of Government Relations for Canadian Blood Services based in Ottawa.

Ted Ball and Liz Verlaan-Cole will discuss their newly published essay:

Governance and Management Roles in Transforming and Integrating Independent Organizations Within Interdepedent Local Health Networks (By: Ted Ball, Dennis Pointer, Liz Verlaan-Cole),

as well as their Governance & Managerial Transformation Readiness Survey. Both documents specifically address the issue of Local Health Networks. They will also have a question period after the discussion. The full unaltered version of the essay will be posted on our website on Tuesday October 5th.

Ted Ball is a partner in Quantum Learning Systems. He has spent the past 10 years learning about organization transformation and whole system redesign in the health, education and high technology sectors. Ted’s focus has been on the integration of systems thinking-based tools for strategy development, strategic alignment and strategy execution.

Ted is a leading expert in accountability systems design, cultural transformation, transformational leadership development, and coaching.

Liz Verlaan-Cole is a partner in Quantum Learning Systems where she integrates her real-world knowledge of a front-line healthcare professional (occupational therapist) with her MBA and her depth of experience in transformational coaching/training in the health, education and high technology sectors.

Liz has written extensively on integrated healthcare delivery systems and has spent the past 10 years tracking their successes and failures. She is a coach/facilitator on best practice balanced scorecarding.
