Terence H. Young is President of Policy Alliance Inc., specializing in discrete results-oriented government relations and strategic communications.
Terence represented the riding of Halton Centre as MPP until the 1999 provincial election, serving as Parliamentary Assistant for Colleges and Universities and P.A. to the Minister of Finance. Terence is a respected former parliamentarian and is currently the nominated federal candidate for the riding of Oakville.
As P.A. to Minister of Finance he Co-Chaired public budget consultations across Ontario and pre-budget consultations, was responsible for public consultations on reform of Ontario’s pension legislation, and carried a number of tax reform Bills through the legislature.
Terence was Chair of The Standing Committee on Finance, and has served on numerous other Standing Committees. As Parliamentary Assistant with responsibility for Colleges and Universities, he consulted with all post secondary stakeholders and conducted a review of capital and operating needs of 16 universities and 25 colleges.
Prior to public life, Terence was a manager at Bell Canada, with various roles in Government Affairs, Public Affairs and Marketing. He served on the board of The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario from March 2000 – March 2003. He is a founder and Vice-Chair of The Ontario Association of Former Parliamentarians, and founding President of Drug Safety Canada, a not-for-profit research foundation and advocacy public interest group.
Terence holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political and Social Science from York University in 1975, and attended Osgoode Hall Law School in 1975-76.
